Fun fact time: many of my old acquaintances still make joking comments whenever they see me wearing pink, because as a child (and honestly pretty much right up to high school) I would refuse to associate with any pink objects.

It wasn’t because I didn’t like pink, it was because since I appeared female I was supposed to/ it was immediately assumed that I did and therefore it pissed me the ever-loving fuck off. I was ashamed to like it, which is terrible because pink is an awesome color. But when you shove it down young girls throats it gets really old, really fast.

Give the child the fucking rainbow, and if they pick pink, it’s not because they are female and/or effeminate, it’s because they like the color pink.

After giving it some great thought last night I’ve come to a quick theory of who I think John Hurt is. Obviously, from the episode we know he is indeed The Doctor but let’s take a look at what this guy quoted “What I did, I did in the name of peace and serenity.” Then Eleven said “But not in the name of the doctor.” He also said he chose his name as The Doctor.

The chances of John Hurt being this forgotten memory/Regeneration of the doctor is very possible. It makes sense too because the only way we would all see him was when The Doctor stepped into his own timeline to save Clara. Otherwise the secret would have still been lost forever.

Being in the presents of his own timeline is a BIG paradox but one only knows what stepping INSIDE his own timeline could do. He’s jumbling his own timeline and with that, we are revealing his secret. (On a greater note this could be exactly how Ten/Rose come into the 50th because of the timeline crosses as I’ve said before) But jumbling up his timeline or even crossing it, its not good at all. Time could be rewritten, events might change, very bad stuff.

But if we want to think about who he is going by his quote the only thing I can think of right now would be what the rumors were discussing. He could very well be 8.5. He’s been forgotten because he didn’t ever want to remember this part of his life. He killed the Timelords so that the Daleks wouldn’t take over the universe, thus sacrificing his race for peace for other races. He had no choice in the matter and this has always haunted him.

In fact, A LOT of people (including myself) believe what was really inside The Doctor’s hotel room in The God Complex was himself after the time war. All we heard was the Cloister Bells of the TARDIS so we knew it was him. Who he was and exactly who he never wanted to be again. Now the possibility of this doctor being inside the room is VERY possible.

As River has said before in A Good Man Goes To War “Doctor. The word for healer and wise man throughout the universe.” This is who he started out as but through the years of loss and pain, I believe the doctor always fears his darker side will come back. A side that he never wants to relive and this forgotten doctor could be this side of him. Except he’s been aged maybe after the time wars this happened.

John Hurt’s costume during filming for the 50th is definitely looking to be between 8-9 so this is very much likely. The question is: what promise did he break? He did things not in the name of the doctor and I’m really wondering what those could be. Why else would our Doctor not want to reveal this guy? Because those must have been some really dangerous things he has done. Maybe even more dangerous then stopping the Time War (If not part of that).
